A little bit about me

I’m Linzi, a small-town girl from Scotland, where every day felt the same. I craved ​more—more adventure, more growth, more of everything life offers. That drive led ​me to live in five different cities across three countries, immersing myself in new ​cultures and constantly learning.


I studied fashion at university, drawn to the art of storytelling and creating visually ​stunning solutions. This passion evolved as I entered the tech world, where I ​discovered the incredible impact science and technology can have. It’s a field often ​seen as dry, but I love transforming complex, “boring” tech into something ​captivating and accessible.


As a designer in tech startups, I’ve thrived in scaling businesses, bringing creativity ​to the heart of innovation. Every day is different, and that’s exactly how I like it—​filled with new challenges, opportunities for growth, and the chance to make a ​meaningful impact.

Situation:

GIGA Graphene Technologies (GGT) needed to establish a brand in the UAE that reflected ​innovation, sustainability, and appealed to high-level stakeholders, including sheiks and ​government officials.


Task:

As the design lead, my task was to create a cohesive brand identity, including a logo, website, ​and storytelling video, that embodied the UAE's values and aligned with GGT’s mission.


Action:

Collaborating closely with the C-suite, I led a cross-functional team to develop a brand identity, ​including a logo inspired by graphene's hexagonal lattice with a sleek black and gold design to ​convey sophistication and innovation. I oversaw the creation of a futuristic website using Adobe ​tools to effectively communicate our goals and global impact, and directed the production of a ​storytelling video to reinforce our market position. Additionally, I spearheaded the development ​of content and pitch decks that highlighted our technology’s alignment with sustainability, ​tailored to engage high-level decision-makers.


Result:

Our branding efforts resulted in a 40% increase in stakeholder engagement and a 30% rise in ​website traffic. The pitch decks and video secured two major projects worth over $4 million, ​positioning GGT as a top innovator in the UAE market.

Situation:

Giga Graphene Technologies (GGT) aimed to showcase their sustainable concrete, GIM Concrete, at ​COP28, highlighting a partnership with the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Tadweer, ​and Masdar City.


Task:

I was tasked with creating a video in 48 hours to present at COP28, illustrating the importance of ​GIM Concrete in addressing climate challenges.


Action:

I took full control of the project, conceptualising, designing, and editing the video. The video ​highlighted the environmental challenges in construction and showcased GIM Concrete’s role in ​sustainable development, emphasising the partnership’s impact.


Result:

The video was chosen over externally produced options, saving costs and impressing high-profile ​attendees at COP28, including government officials and the British Ambassador. The presentation ​generated positive media coverage, reaching over 5 million people and boosting stakeholder ​engagement by 25%.

Situation:

Graphene Innovations Manchester Ltd (GIM) aimed to pioneer the use of graphene, an advanced ​nanomaterial, by building trust and credibility among investors for large-scale projects.


Task:

As the design and marketing lead, I aimed to make graphene technology understandable and ​appealing to investors and customers, securing their confidence and funding.


Action:

I led a strategic marketing initiative focused on a visionary 2030 project to construct the world’s ​tallest building using GIM concrete. Collaborating with scientific teams, I developed clear and ​compelling sales materials that translated complex technical details into accessible content for a ​diverse audience.


Result:

These efforts positioned GIM as a graphene industry leader, securing a six-figure and a nine-figure ​investment to launch a joint venture in the UAE. These investments demonstrated strong ​confidence in our technology, driving our market expansion and innovation efforts.
